AN INTERVIEW WITH A BREEDER Kevin became not only my mentor but a
great friend, always ready to help me with
advice and breed information. He played a
significant part in my professional growth as
a breeder, and I will be eternally grateful
to him.
In 2009 I was looking for another bitch.
Kevin told me there was an exciting litter
out of a Belroyd boy in Holland, so I contacted
this breeder and drove to Holland just after
Christmas to pick up my new family member
ONLY ME OF PENNIES FROM HEAVEN, I can
state she is my real foundation bitch, she gave
me some beautiful puppies mated to another
BELROYD - PEMCADER boy that had arrived in
2015 PEMCADER HIGH FLYER.
The most significant difference
is type. Today's corgis are a
mess; in a class at a show, you
can't see two of the same type;
the biggest difference is in the
heads; the beautiful foxy head
and expression is RARE!!! The
breed is in a very poor state!

I bred several gorgeous dogs, but my pride and
dream is PEMSLIFE GREAT EXPECTATIONS.
She is a dream girl, a show machine, and my
masterpiece.
I breed for passion and to the standard, as Kevin
taught me. I am not important enough to make
improvements people acknowledge. Nowadays,
lot of puppy producers who think they are the
the breeder world is unfortunately filled with a

I keep to myself and breed for what I like.
Yes, I do health tests for my dogs for major
life-threatening issues: Heart, vWd1, eyes, hip
dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, DM. Even if not a
real health problem, Fluff is a non-desirable
trait that can easily be avoided.
A show corgi must be a happy corgi, self-
confident and outgoing, which is essential
forbreeding as well, as a shy dog or bitch will

the UK.

Well, nowadays, "a breeder" is a big word
for some; some kennels produce puppies not
knowing what they are doing, and new people
in the breed don't even know how to read a
pedigree; there is a lot of improvement to be
done, but no one sees it as every breeder thinks
they have the perfect dog, humility is a thing of
the past, cooperation is unknown to the majority!
I evaluate puppies for show potential not before
four months of age, teeth (and testicles for the
boys). I can see the nice ones around 30 days,
but you can only consider a puppy for shows
